Tvor's Friends and Family
I am very lucky to be close to my family and lucky to have many friends both online and offline.
My immediate Family: My father died January 18, 2006 after an 8 month battle against esophogus cancer. He was what some people would call "a character", an amazing, funny, gentle man and a gentleman. I decided to speak at his funeral service. Everyone kept asking me how I could possibly have got through it and how hard it must have been but it wasn't really. I just knew down deep I was meant to speak and as I told a few people "As Dad always says, It was just my job" and that carried me through it. I wanted to make people smile, even just a bit and they did. You can read the text of what I said here.

Graham:
Graham and I, January 2005

That's us in Blackpool, UK
This is Graham. We met on the internet in the coro_street chat room through a mutual friend just after Christmas 2003. In spite of ourselves, we grew close and by spring, the feelings were too strong to deny any longer. We met for the first time face to face in July 2004 and it was everything we thought it would be. He makes me very happy and even though we live across the ocean
from each other, we are determined to make it work. With that in mind, on May 30, 2006 he asked me to marry him so we are now engaged!!!
And my friends...
Carolyn:
Carolyn and I have been friends for almost 30 years and we are near
and dear to each other's hearts even though we live in different provinces!
Some of my favourite memories are of the two of us traveling around Halifax
in my very first car, a royal blue 1979 Mustang. "Our song" was "On the
Road Again"!
Josephine and Tracey:
I met Josephine when she was at my office for a work term while she was taking a computer course. The rest is history. It was Josephine that originated the nickname of The Voice of Reason! I was her birth partner in 1997 for the birth of Thomas and again in 1999 for the birth of Cameron, though both boys ended up being delivered by C-section. She also has an older daughter, Tangraya who is 18 and currently working in London, UK. Josephine met Tracey through work, completing our circle of friendship. Tracey lives a few streets away from me and has a beautiful little boy, Morgan. Josephine now lives in Devon, Alberta. This is a photo from 2005, with Josephine on the left, Tracey in the middle with Morgan and me on the right.
The Contest
Josephine and Tracey and I have had a running "contest" for many years.
To hear more about it, check out this article I wrote. It's a celebration of the friendship we all
share.
Denise:
Denise
worked at HRM until 1999 and we have been close buddies since we started
working for the City of Halifax in 1988. Denise was with me in Italy in
1996 and we share a love for Shakespeare as well. I was Denise's
maid of honour in 1999 for her wedding to Robert.
Honourable Mention:
Carole (we worked together at HRM, traveled together and were movie buddies. She passed away in July 2007 and is missed); many other HRM coworkers; Janet (my snail mail pen pal in England); many, many friends from #coro_street on sorcery net and Live Journal! Last but certainly not least, the Lastgasper gals on Yahoo Groups (former dedicated Another World watchers!)
