Chances are that if you are viewing this page, you already know a little bit about me. My name is Safeire de l'Haven, and I have been a member of the Three Kingdoms community for what feels like a lifetime, and yet it has been a mere five years. In that time, I have had the great honour to belong to the Knights Guild, where I have been many times blessed.

The Knighthood

The heraldry help files are available here. If you have reached (or aspire to) the rank of Noble, please peruse these pages. I have tried to make it as easy and simple as possible, and have added some links to other pages that will help you create your distinctive coat of arms.

The Stories

The knights of the Three Kingdoms are strong warriors, dedicated to a life of honour, valour, and glory. Every day of our lives, we strive toward a certain goal... to meet the standards of a set of virtues passed on down through the generations by the father of the guild, Keylon. I have spent many a weary night contemplating this, our Code of Honour, and have written a few notes and stories on different topics that I would like to share with you. Bear in mind, I have been writing these for two and a half years, and they aren't all of great literary worth. But, they mean a great deal to me, and I hope they make people think a little bit about their own conduct... whether on a MUD or in real life.

  • The Tale of the de l'Havens -- Written in part about eight or nine years ago, this is the partial story of the history of my family, as told by Sir Gregor-Gabriel de l'Haven, the last living of the original de l'Haven clan. It is a continuing saga that I hope to add to at some point, so keep coming back to check.
  • A Paladin's Pledge -- Probably written in February or March of 1995, when I was still getting my feet wet within the guild, there were many conflicts that had arisen within the guild. I wrote this, inspired by the words of another knight. It was as much my promise to the guild as my attempt to remind everyone else of theirs.
  • Lord of the Land -- All through my life, I've been a story teller, spinning tales of deeds great and small. This lyrical story was in a long string of notes I scribbled down to characterize the different virtues of the Code. Lord of that Land is meant to symbolize the virtue of courtesy.
  • A Guild Vision - Part One -- In late November of 1995, I was a fresh new Noble, learning the ways of the leaders of the guild. It was at this time that my mind began to wonder about the rarest of knights, those named as Visionaries. And so, I sought out those who had been granted this grand title, and asked of them a simple question: What does it mean to be a Visionary? The answers were varied and thoughtful, and I put them all together into a two part story. The words read here are their own, hardly touched by the creative instinct.
  • A Guild Vision - Part Two -- Continuation of Part One. It is worthy to note that it was only a mere week after publishing this piece that Keylon, the great founder and father of the guild chose to bestow upon me the title of Visionary. And, I think, the conclusion I drew at the end of my story still holds true, so long after.
  • Passage of a Hero -- The greatest thing any of us can hope to have within the guild is a mentor... a man or a woman who inspires you to act, to think, or to just live life for what it is. I have this in Lord Stu. Passage of a Hero is a short epitaph, dedicated to the day that he decided to pass on his earthly shroud within the Three Kingdoms, and take on the position of a wizard.
  • Death upon the Mountainside -- When a member of the guild is asked what the best part is, the response that often comes is the sense of family, friendship, and camaraderie. This story is dedicated to a man who exemplified all three of these (and many more things) to me one day. As he would no doubt request, I'll spare his name, but know that he is a wonderful person who I owe my life to.
