While the majority of my areas were done soon after I wizzed two years ago, I still thought I'd put a little section in here about them, in case you're curious.

Chinese Checkers

Forever engaged in a fierce battle for dominance over the board, each of the three colours have a good and evil side. The from the small red checkers to the medium-sized green, and then the large blue checkers, this mobs in this area were designed to echo the gradual increase in power of a low-level player. Also, the diagonal design of the board was made to help lower level players become familiar with non-standard mapping schemes (i.e. not all north-south-east-west) in a relatively safe environment.

The Spring of Kierlanai

The old man says: My memory grows dim these days, but some of what I've done in my life still lights the old fire. The story of Lemuria is fresh, and I've told it to many who were willing to sit with me a moment to listen. But today, I would like to tell a new story...

The old man sits down a moment, pensive and serene, and you can tell them he is about to spin a tale of wonder and of beauty.

The old man says: Before the Mage Wars, before the death and the destruction, there was a kingdom in the north. It was a tranquil land whose king sat on a throne of gold, under a mountain that soared high up to the heavens. Kierlanai, the kingdom, attracted visitors from every corner of the world. They all came to take the long trek up the towering Mount Kierlanai, to the mysterious spring.

His eyes close slowly as he starts to walk through his memory one more time.

The old man says: Some came for religious reasons, others for science, some simply as skeptics to the healing powers of the spring... I was there for strength of spirit... I was in great need of that in those days....

The Tower of Vindaes

Wayhaven's infamous tower of torture has stood next to the citadel as far back as anyone can remember. Used only in special cases, prisoners may be taken from the citadel dungeons to the tower where he or she may be questioned for weeks. If the person is to then be executed, he or she is marched through the Bazaar, down Riverford, and to the executioner's arena where the
beheading occurs.

It hosted thousands of guests during the Mage Wars, including many Light Mages. It is said that it managed to survive the assaults on Wayhaven by Strahd due to the magical energy the Mages' blood left on the stones.

Once inside the tower, a visitor should make sure they peruse the Manual of Vindaes just inside the door, which will provide enormous enlightenment on the implements found within. Be aware, though, that the Tower houses unmentionable horror and only those with an iron-clad stomach or a distinct love of the history of Wayhaven should dare enter.

The Isle of Haven

As torn from the pages of dust-covered books deep in the bowels of the Wayhaven Library:

Haven, Isle of -- Island of legend, it is said to be the ancient throne of a noble family of another land. Stories told by madmen recovered from the great eastern sea by ships bound for Taslen say that a portal opens up in the sea that swallows ships whole and transports them to Haven.
