Text:   Yurchesyn, John "Johnny" - Sydney, died September 16, 2003, in Cape
Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late
Katherine (Kozel) and Joseph Yurchesyn. Surviving are his wife, Mary
Philomena Pettipas; brother, Michael; sons, David, Gary, Brian, Paul,
Michael; daughters, JoAnn Yurchesyn Hashem, Brenda Wilson; 14
grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Robert; two brothers, three
sisters. Visiting 7-9 pm today, 2-4, 7-9 pm Thursday in T.W. Curry
Parkview Chapel. Funeral 11 am Friday in Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic
Church, Rev. Roman Dusanowskyj officiating. Interment in Forest Haven

Text:   Sydney. Mrs. Mary Furdas, 73, died early Saturday, February 24, 1979
in St. Rita's Hospital, Sydney, after a long illness. The former Mary
Yurchesyn, she was born in the Ukraine. She came to Sydney in 1922,
and was a member of Holy Ghost Parish, Whitney Pier. Predeceased by
her husband, Wasyl, Mrs. Furdas is survived by six daughters,
Catherine (Mrs. John Dilney) of Sydney, Ann (Mrs. Dean Veniot) of
Saint John, NB., Ruby (Mrs. James Antle) of Cornwall, Ontario, Nellie
(Mrs. Clifton Penney) of Sydney, Marie (Mrs. Karl Halloran) and
Natalie (Mrs. Vincent MacLean) of Sydney, and four sons Joseph of
Scarborough, Ontario, John of Sydney, Michael of Quebec, Walter of
Sydney, 26 grandchildren. She is survived also by one sister, Mrs.
Ruby Hasiuk of Sydney and four brothers, Alex of Toronto, Mike, of
South Bar, Joseph of Oshawa, Ontario, and John of Sydney River. She
was predecased by her son Gordon and one sister Mrs. Anna Brosky.
Funeral mass was celebrated Monday in Holy Ghost Church, and interment
took place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of
T.W. Curry Funeral Homes.

Mike, John Yurchesyn; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She
was predeceased by husband, Anthony "Tony"; son, Stephen; sisters,
Mary, Annie; brothers Alex, Joseph. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 pm Sunday in
T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., mass 10 am Monday in Holy
Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rev. Rudnik officiating. Interment in
Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a good deed to
someone or donation to an organization would be appreciated.

Text:   MARGARET CUSACK, 93, of 480 Prince Street, Sydney, died Sunday in Sydney.
Born in Ingonish, she was a daughter of the late George Hines and Louise (MacDougall) Hines MacIntyre. A member of St. Theresa's Parish, Sydney, she served for many years on the executive of the Ladies Aid and was a member of the Catholic Women's League. She was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College and taught in the Grand Lake area prior to her marriage. She is survived by three sons, George, Worchester Mass.; Gerald, New Victoria; Bill, Halifax; six daughters, Eileen (Mrs. Doug Landry), Louise (Mrs. David Coffin) and Mrs. Patricia Keough, all of Sydney, Pauline (Mrs. George McDonald), Don Mills, Ont.; Carmel (Mrs. Jack Brydges), Kirkland, Que.; Cheryl (Mrs. Don Bildstein), Halifax; a stepbrother, George McIntyre; 37 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Michael; two sons, Jack and Frank; and a sister, Elizabeth McLean. The body will be in T. W. Curry's Chapel, Sydney, after 7 p.m.today. Funeral will held 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Theresa's Church, Rev. Eugene Morris officiating.Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks
