Text: New Waterford, June 16 - The death of Theopholis Burke, one of the most respected citizens of Lingan occurred on Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. The deceased was born at L'Ardoise, Richmond County and was a resident of that district of the past twenty-five years. He was forty-eight years of age and is
survived by his wife, two daughters, Elizabeth and Mildred, one son John, one brother Arthur Burke of New Waterford, two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Kelly, Jr., and Mrs James Cummings, and one step-brother Charles Sampson. The funeral of the deceased will be held to Saint Patrick's Church Lingan on Sunday morning at 9:30.

Harkins), Halifax; brothers, Mike, Toronto; Simon, Margaree; a grandson. She was predeceased by brothers, William, Joseph, Wilfred, Mose. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Augustine's Church, Rev. John Capstick officiating. Burial in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

The body is at the T.W. Curry Funeral Home, Sydney. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Church. Intermet in Calvary Cemetery.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Carrie Mary Day; daughter, Catherine; son, Teddy; a grandchild and great-grandchild; sister, Rhea; brother, George. He was retired after 47 years with Devco. He was supervisor of accounts receivable. He was a member of Sons of Temperance and held several offices in the district and grand division. He was superintendant of Sherwood Sunday School and former elder of St. Andrew's Church, Sydney. Surviving are his wife, the former Eva Alice Nicoll; sons, George, Marystown, Nfld.; Ronald, Mira; Wayne, Glace Bay; brothers, Angus, Sydney; Rev. Edward, Moncton; sisters, Isabelle Andrews, Westmount; Hattie Spagolatti, Sydney; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Rhea Ryan. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Sydney Memorial Chapel. There will be no visitation Good Friday. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's United Church, Rev. Kevin Little officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Hornes Road. Donations to any charity.
