Michalik, Augustave - 74, 375 Fort St., Glace Bay, died Monday in
Glace Bay Community Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the
late Stanislaus and Frances (Jaros) Michalik. He was a retired
employee of the Dominion Coal Company and he was also a member of Holy
Cross Church. He is survived by four sons, Gussie, London, Ont; Abbey,
Teddy and Calvin, all of Glace Bay; three daughters, Shirley (Mrs.
Charles Rogers Jr.) and Olga (Mrs. Naish Burke), both of Glace Bay;
Mary (Mrs. Brian Lepine), Winnipeg; a brother, Frank, Glace Bay; Three
sisters, Mary Niedzielski and Cecelia Koziel, both of Sydney; Olga
Swartzack, Glace Bay; 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ruth Fricker; five
brothers, Mickey, Joe, Albert, Larry and Edward. The body is in V.J.
MacGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Funeral Service will bne 9:30 am
Thursday in Holy Cross Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's
Cemetery, Glace Bay.

Text:   KOZIEL, William (Bill) - 56, 34 Edgar St., Sydney, died August 21, 1998, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Joseph and Celia (Michakik) Koziel. He was a member of Immaculate Heart Parish, Mira Road. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Lawrence; sons, Wayne, Frenchvale; Gary, Sydney; Paul, Lake Ainslie; a granddaughter; brothers, Joe, Dartmouth; Roy, Howie Centre; Teddy, Richmond Hill, Ont.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Audrey Fraser. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Heart Church. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Donations to Cape Breton Palliative Care.

Text:   BOWSER, Robert Albert - 85, Carefield Manor, formerly of George Street, Sydney, died March 3, 1998, in the manor. Born in Sackville, N.B., he was a son of the late Hiram and Ruth (Cole) Bowser. He retired from Fred Pierce Ltd. as a sheet metal worker with several firms in Sydney. He was a member of Sydney River United Protestant Church, Men Brotherhood, Kiwanis Golden K and was a former member of Lingan Golf and Country Club and senior citizen's club. Surviving are daughter, Sharon (Mrs. Allen Evans), Surrey, B.C.; a grandson; sister, Freda Marr, Riverview, N.B.; stepsons, Bill, Joe, Ray and Ted Koziel, and their families; a number of step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Celia Koziel; grandson, Doug French; sister, Lena; brothers, George, Percy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. No visitation. Memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday in Sydney River United Protestant Church, Rev. Alan McIntosh officiating. Burial in Alfred Smith Memorial Cemetery. Donations to any charity.

daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Ropek) Michalik. She was a
member of Holy Cross Parish, Glace Bay. Surviving are her husband,
Bill Murphy; daughter, Maureen Arseneau, Rothesay, N.B.; son, Bill,
Sydney; sisters, Frances, Glace Bay; Carmella, Toronto; brothers,
Edward, Moncton, N.B.; Bernard, Glace Bay; three grandchildren. She
was predeceased by brother, Joseph. Cremation has taken place. There
will be no visitation. Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Churchm,
Glace Bay, Re. John Graham officiating. Burial in St. Anne's Cemetery,
Glace Bay. Donations to Cape Breton Palliative Care Society of
Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to T.W. Curry Parkview
