Contained - One hundred years ago the Secessione was
introduced to the public viennese with its first extension. The
Lombardy Region, the Province of Milan and the Foundation Antonio
Mazzotta, in collaboration with the Graphische Sammlung Albertina
(from which the greater part of the works comes) and the Austrian
Institute of Culture of Milan, review of greatest importance has
intentional to celebrate this event with one historical-critic. The
attention of the organizers has been concentrated on the period of the
first years of activity, from 1897 to 1905, wanting to emphasize a
moment of the rather neglected art Austrian regarding the successive
years, those of Schiele and Kokoschka, that they have been object of
numerous exposures.
The plan constitutes for Milan an extraordinary occasion to
resume the contacts with the great culture Austrian and to introduce
some of the more painted important than Klimt, like as an example the
polemico and programmatico Veritas Knot of 1899,
with which the artist it takes the distances from the dominant
official taste.
The works: 10 paintings of Gustav Klimt and 250
works on paper between designs, watercolors and diagrams of Klimt and
the artists of the Secessione.
