Every trip to Cardiff had to include the 20 minute walk from the station to the depot. Fortunately for trainspotters, there was a footbridge that crossed the 4 track main to the depot entrance and from this many of the loco's on shed were visible as well as all of the mainline traffic. The pictures in this gallery are taken from both the station, the footbridge and from within the depot as staff could be quite tolerant of young spotters if they were polite and asked permission.
