Bedwin Family History

William Field Bedwin

The Bedwin family first came to Nova Scotia in the early 1900's from Duxbury, Massetuchets. My grandfather, William Field Bedwin, was a contractor by trade, who worked with Alexander Graham Bell. In working with Bell, he was a superintendant of Bell's Laboratories in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, 1909 to about 1913, approximately.

Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site
The Site is an outstanding tribute to the genius and compassion of Alexander Graham Bell, an entertaining and educational experience for the whole family. This is the most comprehensive collection of Bell's artifacts, written materials and personal momentos in the world. Three exhibit halls tell the story of Bell's incredible life, and display the equipment used for his inventions. The Site is located at the east end of the village of Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada, on Chebucto Street (Route 205). It's a short walk to the middle of town.
