And so the great entity known as Wormwood decided that the strife and anguish in its world was getting too depressing, and that a strong ruler must be raised who could lead the people into a new age, or… civilization could be destroyed, and perhaps one day, people would return. Wormwood summoned the greatest heroes of the four lands to a place called 'Isper Dem' or 'Last Hope'. There the great entity tested the heroes with riddle, perception, and combat. The location of Isper Dem was no accident, near the recently moved Hellmouth. The demons spewing forth from it, served as good test material for the champions, and if they could destroy the Hellmouth, so much the better. The heroes went to work in the area around Isper Dem, and were well rewarded for their efforts. As they completed Wormwoods tasks they were rewarded with power, which the great entity used to gauge their progress. The place was also rich in lost artifacts. It was discovered that one of the heroes, Morden, who had been reported to have closed the last Hellmouth, in the Southland, was actually a traitor working with the demons, in an attempt to enslave the people of Wormwood. He quickly gathered up his allies, the great Troll, Bazmazh, his new friend, Gaela, and fled with them into the bush. The remaining heroes sought out Morden, led by Master Kolar, discovered how to bring down the Hellmouth, but that Morden held the key.Near the end of Wormwood's great experiment, just before judgment, Kolar confronted Morden in front of all others, and demanded the two artifacts which are the keys to the Hellmouth. Morden asked the Jedi to wait, but Kolar would have none of it, and battle was joined, with Kolar disarming his foe, and wounding him deeply. The battle began to rage, demons joined Morden, and were able to distract the heroes enough, to allow him to escape, but no before his allies were cut down. Morden disappeared into the forest.
Master Kolar, the Jedi Knight for a land far, far away proved himself to be the most honorable, selfless, strongest, and wise, and has offered to give up his personal vendetta against another of his people, and stay here on Wormwood, and bring order to the land. Kolar was granted great power to shape the land, and control it. He used these to turn the land around Isper Dem into a great city, with verdant fields surrounding. His friend Genwa stayed to help him administer the land, and he struck an excellent deal with Thornthall to help provide food to his homeworld.
People flocked to the new city, called Isper. Years rolled by, life was good for the Northland. But then word of demon activity in the Eastland came to Isper…
I would like to thank the following folks, for without them, the game would have surely been a disaster: Lyne Dufault for her tireless efforts in the kitchen, Wookie, for his ever-cool props, and Craig Dutton, who made sure everyone had a fair game, and helped keep me reasonable sane as the game date approached. These folks, and others were recognized with an extra point or two. Extra points were also awarded for costumes, excellent role-playing, and completion of personal quests. I'd like to thank everyone for coming out. I hope you had a good time.
