This will be our 12th year participating with Scouts Canada in a day long event at Camp Harris to entertain the scouts. Each year our members portray the role of ‘monsters’ to the scouts teams of ‘players’. Throughout the day the scouts strive to improve their characters by defeating monsters and finding the answers to their ‘quests’. The quests are a series of trivia questions designed to be hard enough that they will need our help to get the right answers. After supper we run the teams of scouts through an elimination process where they each get to fight one of the ten ‘Guardians’. Each Guardian is indentical and never misses an attack! The object of this is to find the top ten teams of Scouts (those who do the most damage to a guardian before being KO’d) who then go on to fight the DRAGON! Scouts Canada has two prizes for the scouts, one for the team who does the most damage to the Dragon and one for the team that actually gets the killing blow. The Dragon fights all ten teams even if killed early lashing out in his/her death throes. This is the 3rd year that FFTS is offering prizes to the Scouts as well. We have a prize for the individual Scout with the Best Costume and a team prize for the team with the Best Role-playing. This event has no game fee attached to it and Scouts Canada feeds us lunch, supper and assorted snacks. Basically we get treated like kings!
