Harrod's Rot is a 3-day game based on, and set in, the World of Talisman, scheduled for September 6-8 at Camp Harris. For the last 50 years Stormguard has had a good King, a wise and munificent ruler, fair to all, stern and a man of the people. Harrod has led an extended life, bolstered by artifice found while he adventured, exposure to the valley of fire, and ultimately his time within the crown of command, where his rule was made absolute. Now Harrod lies in his deathbed. His strength, while superhuman before fades like grass in winter, his wits have left him, he lies in feverish misery that no cure of the priests nor unction from the alchemist has proven to be any use. The great golden King lies dying.
After a short debate by the viceroy council, a call has been sent out throughout the lands to all men and woman, fair folk and foul subhuman beasts, all figures of note throughout the kingdom to determine who can again ascend through the valley of fire, to once again seize the crown of command and unify the Kingdom. This task will be daunting to say the least, but ultimately a chance to grasp power, steer your people into the light or plunge them into darkness. It is your choice, but only if you can manage to best your peers, traverse the valley of fire and ascend to the Crown of Command.
Harrod's Rot will be a 3-day participant game, set at Camp Harris and will be at the +10 point level. Rules changes will be minimal and only changes to give the look and feel of the Talisman environment will be used. Races will be Fantasy Standard, with alterations only available on a 'colour' basis. No substantive changes. There will be opportunity for players to obtain experience for their actions, which will be paramount to their ultimate success in the stated goal. The experience spending system will be FFTS standard, and the EP system will be similar to the one used on "Fields of Valhalla" barring any major flaws found within it.
