For the most part February remained much milder than we are used to, and March as well so far has been generally the same. No major winter storms since my last posting, and this weekend the weather is downright Spring-like. Still just patchy snow out there and quite a bit of soggy grass and soft mud. The weather looks like it's going to cool down again by mid-week, and next weekend looks frigid.

Well what a contrast in weather from this winter compared to last. With the exception of one storm in December, both December and January were anything but wintery. Not only was it much milder than normal, but also drier. The end result was very litte snow. February 1st saw our biggest snowstorm so far this season, with near 30cm of snow falling on that day. Since then however it has been back to very pleasant weather, albiet a little more seasonal in the way of temperatures. Only patchy snow out there at present.

The nice stretch of weather we saw during the week leading up to the Thanksgiving weekend came to an abrupt halt just in time for the start of the holiday. It has been steadily raining all weekend, and record rainfall amounts have been recorded in many areas. Many have seen over 100mm of rain during the last 3 days and some have seen upwards of 160mm. All this courtesy of a stalled frontal zone and the remnants of Tammy.
