Captain Sean and Marilyn Furey

Captain Sean is a member of the Believers’ Session and was commissioned in 2003.  Prior to entering the College for Officer Training, he worked for 12 years as a LPN at a nursing home in St. John’s, NL.  He enjoys wood-working and being outside.

Major Marilyn is a member of the Joyful Evangelists Session and was commissioned in 1979.  She served for 11 years in corps and social work.  She spent four years (1982-86) on missionary service to Chile in the South American West Territory.  Her appointment was Private Secretary to the Territorial Commander.

In November 1989 she resigned her commission to marry Sean and they were married on April 28, 1990.  They have two children, David and Andrew.

Prior to her re-acceptance as a Salvation Army officer, she worked as a LPN at a nursing home in St. John’s.  She was re-accepted on August 31, 2001 and was appointed to the Glenbrook Lodge nursing home in St. John’s as Chaplain while Sean was in training to become an officer.

Both Captain Sean and Major Marilyn thank God for the privilege of serving Him together here in Dartmouth.
