Captain Sean and Marilyn Furey Captain Sean is a
member of the Believers’ Session and was commissioned in 2003.
Prior to entering the College for Officer Training, he worked for 12
years as a LPN at a nursing home in St. John’s, NL. He enjoys wood-working and being outside. Major Marilyn is a
member of the Joyful Evangelists Session and was commissioned in 1979. She served for 11 years in corps and social work.
She spent four years (1982-86) on missionary service to Chile in the
South American West Territory. Her
appointment was Private Secretary to the Territorial Commander. In November 1989 she
resigned her commission to marry Sean and they were married on April 28, 1990.
They have two children, David and Andrew. Prior to her
re-acceptance as a Salvation Army officer, she worked as a LPN at a nursing home
in St. John’s. She was
re-accepted on August 31, 2001 and was appointed to the Glenbrook Lodge nursing
home in St. John’s as Chaplain while Sean was in training to become an
officer. Both Captain Sean and Major Marilyn thank God for the privilege of serving Him together here in Dartmouth. |
