When biomass is incinerated to produce steam for the generation of
electricity, it creates
less harmful stack emissions than conventional fossil fuels. Biomass
is being used in a more refined form in the United Kingdom to reduce
stack emissions by introducing it into coal burning boiler systems.
Both applications are compliant with emission controls under the
Kyoto Accord.

Several factors will affect the final costs of any particular vessel
load. Sometimes, a client will take a load with a higher moisture
content (and a lower LHV rating), and blend it with a dryer load to
achieve a more balanced overall cost.

The product is either moved by a vessel that is a designated a
primary wood chip vessel with a self unloader, or, a bulk carrier
with fixed gear to unload the cargo.
