Biomass is a versatile product that can be extracted
and collected from a variety of sources, often as additional
material from a primary product, and what would otherwise be
considered excess or waste.
This is true with residual wood fiber material from sawmills and
specialty mills such as bark, sawdust, and wood trimmings. Biomass
can also be procured through natural ecological processes such as
bug infestation, blown down tress from weather related events such
as hurricanes, tornadoes, and severe wind storms, and managed forest
practices such as silviculture and tree harvesting byproducts.
The end result is the same; a viable,
green energy alternative fuel
resource that might otherwise be destined (inappropriately) for a
landfill, or worse, provide fuel for forest and brush fires.
